What if Life is Trying to Tell You Something? The Unexpected Patterns Leading Me Across the World

Have you ever noticed a pattern so strong that it made you pause and wonder if something bigger was at play?
Over the past two years, I’ve experienced a series of strange coincidences, repeating numbers, unexpected connections, and seemingly unrelated events all converging around one place: Latvia. At first, I brushed it off as chance. But as the patterns kept unfolding, I started asking myself: How much of life is random, and how much is part of a bigger design we just don’t fully understand?
11:11, Grief, and the First Signs
The first time I really noticed repeating numbers was right after my mom passed away. During that time, I was deep in grief, navigating major life changes, and trying to process everything that had happened. And for some reason, in my most difficult moments, 11:11 kept appearing.
At first, it was just a clock catching my eye at just the right moment. Then it started showing up on receipts, timers, and random signs. It wasn’t just once or twice, it was constant.
The strange thing is, I have this hazy memory of my mom and grandma talking about 11:11 as a time to make a wish. My mom, who was really into the Law of Attraction, used to say that our thoughts shape our reality, and that paying attention to little signs could help guide us. Back then, I never gave it much thought. But after she passed, it felt like those signs were guiding me…
Reminding me that I wasn’t alone.
Recognizing the Patterns
As time passed, the numbers changed. I started seeing 444 (stability and protection), 555 (change and transition), and 777 (spiritual growth, wisdom, and alignment).
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a skeptic. I know that the brain is wired to recognize patterns. Apophenia, our tendency to find meaning in random data, explains why we see faces in clouds or believe we’re “due” for a win when gambling. And when we focus on something (like a specific number), confirmation bias makes sure we notice it more often.
So yes, there’s a perfectly rational explanation for all of this. And yet I can’t deny how perfectly timed these patterns have seemed. They’ve shown up exactly when I needed reassurance, when I was making big decisions, and when I was stepping into something new. And then came Latvia.
The Latvia Connection
After first launching merchandise on my website I checked my Ayana Flow sales invoices and calculated my revenue after expenses. The total? $7.77. I laughed, thinking it was a cute coincidence until I looked at the invoice again and realized that the headquarters for the online fulfillment company I was using is based in Riga, Latvia.
That alone would have been enough to make me pause. But then, more connections started appearing:
A Latvian traveler randomly visited the Visitor Centre where I worked in Northern BC
A colleague’s wife is from Latvia and will be visiting at the same time as me
And as I started to prepare for my leave, I discovered that two former colleagues are also heading to Latvia!
At what point does “random” start to feel like something else?
Chance, Probability, or Something More?
Statistically speaking, coincidences like these are bound to happen. With billions of events unfolding every day, some are inevitably going to align in ways that seem meaningful. There’s even a mathematical explanation for this called Littlewood’s Law, which states that a person can expect to experience what feels like a miracle about once a month, just by the sheer volume of experiences we encounter.
And yet I can’t ignore the gut feeling that these events are pointing me toward something.
Maybe it’s just my brain finding connections where there aren’t any. Or maybe, just maybe, there’s a bigger pattern that science hasn’t yet explained.
Carl Jung called this phenomenon synchronicity, the meaningful alignment of seemingly unrelated events. Unlike randomness, synchronicity suggests that some connections aren’t just chance; they hold personal significance, even if we don’t fully understand why.
What This Means for My Path
Here’s what I do know:
I’m about to move to Latvia
I’m seeing clear patterns, whether purely statistical or something more
Ayana Flow, something I built from scratch, is already connected to this place
People from my past are unexpectedly showing up there
I don’t know exactly what this means, but I do know that life has a way of unfolding in directions we can’t always predict.
Maybe everything that has happened so far can be explained away by psychology, probability, and coincidence. Maybe I’m just primed to notice these patterns because I want to see them.
But even if that’s the case, there’s something deeply reassuring about the idea that I’m being guided on my path and that I get to experience this journey as it unfolds. Whether it’s pure science or something more, it’s a privilege to witness.
And maybe that’s the point. Maybe it’s not about needing all the answers but about being willing to step into the unknown and see where the path leads.
Have You Ever Experienced This?
I’d love to hear from you have you ever experienced a series of coincidences that felt too precise to be random? Do you believe in synchronicity, or do you think our brains are just wired to find meaning where there isn’t any?
Let’s talk about it. Because whether it’s chance, alignment, or something we can’t explain, there’s something undeniably fascinating about the patterns life presents us.
With lightness and curiosity,
Vanessa
